American Cancer Society

Each year, Delta employees and customers raise more than $2 million for the American Cancer Society, opens in a new window (ACS) as part of a partnership that has spanned over 15 years. A major effort includes the annual Delta Day of Hope, where employees from airports around the world honor cancer survivors, remember a loved one and fight back against the disease. Delta also hosts the “Jet Drag,” where teams of 20 attempt to pull a 757 aircraft 20 feet in the shortest amount of time to raise money for ACS. Delta also sponsors other ACS initiatives throughout the year, including the Hope Ball.

American Red Cross

Delta is the number 1 corporate donor of blood to the American Red Cross, opens in a new window, a partnership that has spanned over 75 years. In fiscal year 2019, Delta employees donated 13.064 pints of blood — saving over 39.000 lives. In addition, Delta proactively partners with the American Red Cross to serve as an Annual Disaster Giving Program (ADGP) member and supports the organization at the $1M level annually in addition to sponsoring Sound the Alarm. Save a Life to help install smoke alarms throughout the U.S.  The American Red Cross is Delta’s longest standing not-for-profit partnership dating back to 1941 when Delta employees donated blood during WWII.

Breast Cancer Research Foundation

Since 2005, Delta employees and customers have raised $14.6 million for BCRF, including last year’s efforts of $2 million. The collective contributions have funded the vital work of 51 different research projects in the pursuit of eradicating breast cancer. Delta’s month-long campaign to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research begins with the “Breast Cancer One” employee survivor flight. Throughout the campaign, Delta employees don pink uniforms and sell pink products, including pink lemonade and pink headsets, on board and in Delta Sky Clubs. 

BCRF is a nonprofit organization committed to achieving prevention and a cure for breast cancer. BCRF provides critical funding for cancer research worldwide to fuel advances in tumor biology, genetics, prevention, treatment, metastasis, and survivorship. Since its founding in 1993 by Evelyn H. Lauder, BCRF has raised more than half a billion dollars for lifesaving research. In 2017-2018, BCRF will award $59.5 million in annual grants to more than 275 scientists from top universities and medical institutions around the globe.

Children's Miracle Network Hospitals

Through Delta's partnership with the Children's Miracle Network of Hospitals, opens in a new window, Delta employees bring smiles to the parents of kids who have a remarkable medical journey. Delta has partnered with CMNH since 1997, contributing more than $5 million. Delta supports 19 Children's Hospitals, 13 of which are CMN Hospitals.

Habitat for Humanity

Delta has helped build or rehab 270 homes through our partnership with Habitat for Humanity since 1995. In 2017, over 2.500 Delta employees volunteered their time and talent to help build eight homes in the U.S. and 12 homes internationally to offer deserving families safe, decent and affordable homes. Delta employees have a tradition of working with partner airlines to build homes with Habitat for the Global Builds. In Spring 2019, Delta and GOL employees built 6 homes in Recife, Brazil. In Spring 2018, Delta and China Eastern partnered to help build six homes in Sancun, a small village north of Guangzhou in China.
