The design of Tampa International Airport is unique. It has a central landside terminal for ticketing and baggage claim surrounded by four airside satellites (A, C, E, and F) comprising a total of 59 gates. Tampa has a humid subtropical climate and experiences two seasons. From May through October, it is wet and hot. From November through April it is mild and dry. The rainiest months are June through September when two-thirds of its annual precipitation falls. The hottest months are June, July, and August when the average monthly high is 90 degrees; average lows are in the mid-60s. The coolest months are December, January, and February when the average highs are in the mid-70s, with average lows in the low-50s.
