What types of Certificates and eCredits are there?
Delta eCerts can be redeemed for a variety of money-saving offers on eligible flights, including:- A specific dollar amount off the cost of an eligible fare.
- A specific percentage off the cost of an eligible fare.
- A specific percentage off the number of miles required to purchase an Award ticket.
- A travel certificate that covers the cost of a ticket and requires the customer to only pay applicable taxes and fees.
- A complimentary upgrade to the First or Business Class cabin.
- SkyMiles Companion Certificates are exclusive, money-saving certificates good for one eligible round-trip flight--just for renewing your Delta SkyMiles Credit Card from American Express. Learn more about SkyMiles Companion Certificates.
eCredits are a specific monetary value that can be applied as payment toward the cost of a Delta ticket and any government-imposed taxes and fees. Examples of an eCredit:
- Unused or partially used past date eTicket.
- Delta Travel Voucher received when an eTicket exchange results in residual value.
- Delta Dollars received for denied boarding compensation from an over sold flight.
- Transportation Credit Voucher received as compensation for a service issue.
- Miscellaneous Charge Order generally received when an eTicket exchange results in residual value and the original form of payment for the ticket was other than a credit card.
- eGift certificates
When you redeem Certificates or eCredits at delta.com there is no transaction fee. You can also redeem them at any Delta ticketing location, but additional fees may apply. Most Certificates and eCredits cannot be redeemed at travel agencies, other airlines, or other travel web sites please refer to the terms and conditions for details.
Can I see a list of the Certificates and eCredits I already have?
Certificates and eCredits associated with your SkyMiles number can be viewed by going to delta.com and logging in with your SkyMiles number and then go to MY DELTA and open the Certificates and eCredits module within My Wallet. Only Certificates or eCredits that were associated to your SkyMiles number when it was issued will be displayed.If you wish to view Certificates or eCredits not associated with your SkyMiles number visit delta.com/redeemand enter your Certificate or eCredit number. You can view up to six individual numbers at one time.
How many Certificates or eCredits/Gifts can I redeem toward my ticket?
Maximum allowances
eCredits:
The maximum number of combinable eCredits allowed with the initial purchase is 3 per ticket.
The maximum number of combinable eCredits allowed with a ticket change is 2 per ticket.
GIFTS:
The maximum number of Gifts allowed on the initial purchase from www.delta.com is 3 per booking. If redeemed through any other method, the maximum allowed is 3 per ticket.The maximum number of Gifts allowed with a ticket change from www.delta.com is 3 per booking.
If redeemed through any other method, the maximum allowed with a ticket change is 2 per ticket.Please refer to the Terms and Conditions of each individual eCredit/Gift for additional details.
How do I redeem an individual Certificate or eCredit/Gift?
Redeeming an eCredit/Gift: (Monetary value)
- eCredits and Gifts can be selected/entered prior to shopping or on the payment page.
- If redeeming for a single passenger, click the Redeem a Certificate link below to get started.
- If redeeming for a multiple passenger booking, get started with your booking at www.delta.com and on the payment page, use the FIND A ECREDIT link to redeem your eCredit(s)/Gift(s).
- Enter your eCredit or GIFT number along with any other required information.
- eCredits/Gifts will be applied as a form of payment at time of purchase.
Redeeming a Certificate: (American Express Companion certificate/Complimentary travel certificates/
dollars off eCert/percent off eCert)- Certificates must be selected or entered prior to shopping for your flights.
- Click the Redeem a Certificate link below.
- Enter your Certificate number along with any other required information.
- When using a Certificate, your eligible flight options will be identified as "Certificate applied".
Can I combine the Certificates and eCredits I already have?Some Certificates and eCredits can be combined and used for a single ticket if the Terms and Conditions allow it. If you have more than one Certificate or eCredit to redeem:
- Click the Redeem Multiple Certificates link below.
- Enter the numbers along with any other required information. You can also enter your SkyMiles information to view all of the Certificates and eCredits associated with your account.
- Select the Certificates and/or eCredits you would like to redeem.
- Search for eligible flights and book your trip.
If my eCredit covers the cost of my ticket, why do I need to provide credit card information?
Credit card information is required for all flight purchases in order to be eligible for Risk Free Cancellationonline.

SkyMiles Companion Certificates
With the Platinum Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card or Delta Reserve Credit Card from American Express in your wallet, you’ll receive a Companion Certificate each year just for renewing your Card. With this Certificate, you can invite someone special to fly with you on an eligible round-trip domestic flight.
- As a Platinum Delta SkyMiles Credit Card Member, you’ll receive a domestic Main Cabin Companion Certificate each year upon renewal.*
- As a Delta Reserve Credit Card Member, you’ll receive a domestic First Class or Main Cabin Companion certificate each year upon renewal.*

Where do I find my Companion Certificate?
A Companion Certificate is automatically issued to your SkyMiles account each year following your Card renewal. Just log on to delta.com and go to ‘My Delta.’ Your Companion Certificate will be waiting for you in ‘My Wallet’ under ‘Credits and Certificates.’
How do I redeem a Companion Certificate?
You can find and redeem your Companion Certificate online following these easy steps:
- Log on to delta.com.
- Go to My Delta.
- Click on ‘Credits and Certificates’ in the ‘My Wallet’ box.
- Select the available Certificate and click ‘Continue.’
- Search for eligible flights and book your trip.
Alternatively, if you already have your Companion Certificate code handy, you can also follow the steps below:
- Click here to redeem a certificate (and log in with your SkyMiles account, if you aren’t logged in already).
- Enter the 8-character certificate code from the letter or email you received.
- Search for eligible flights and book your trip.
Please note that you need to both book and complete your travel by the expiration date listed for your Companion Certificate.
Platinum Companion Certificate

If the primary ticket and Companion ticket are changed after issuance, subject to the fare rules of the primary ticket, there will be a $200 administrative service charge for each of the primary ticket and the Companion ticket, plus a charge for the fare difference of the primary ticket. Changes are subject to the rules of the fare purchased and are subject to seat availability. After travel has commenced, rerouting is not permitted.
Transferability:
The Companion Certificate is transferable, Primary ticket and Companion ticket are not transferable once issued. Companion Certificate may not be bartered or sold.
