If you have a war-injured immediate family member or domestic partner, you fall under Delta’s Medical Emergency policy. To book a discounted medical emergency flight, you will need to provide your name and relationship to your injured family member; in addition to the name and phone number of the military hospital providing their care.
At Delta, we define immediate family as spouses, domestic partners, children, parents, siblings, stepsiblings, stepchildren, grandparents, grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and father-, mother-, sister-, daughter and brother-in-laws.

Military Pet Travel
We believe furry members of your family should go where you do. That’s why we accept animals as checked baggage on Delta flights only for active U.S. Military or active U.S. State Department Foreign Service Officers (FSO) & their spouses with active transfer orders, such as a Permanent Change of Station. For the safety of your pet, you must comply with federal regulations and include the proper, up-to-date documentation.
ANIMALS ACCEPTED AS CHECKED BAGGAGE
You may transport up to two kennels per flight and some restrictions may apply. Some giant-sized kennels may have to be shipped as cargo with another professional provider, due to space requirements. Call the Military and Government Desk with any questions about transporting your pets at 800.325.1771.
