-
We automatically track qualifying flights when your SkyMiles account number appears in the reservation record. That's why it's important to give your SkyMiles number when you're booking your reservation, and to use your name exactly as it appears on your membership card.
-
Fill out the form on the Request Mileage Credit page. Be sure to include flight number, dates of travel and ticket number. See Mileage Rules & Conditions for more details.
-
Go to Forgot SkyMiles Number for everything you need to know about retrieving lost or forgotten account numbers.
-
View your SkyMiles account information within My Delta to see if your credit is shown.
-
Yes. We can give you credit for flights that occurred up to 9 months before you enrolled. To get credit, fill out the form on the Request Mileage Credit page.
-
It can take between 30 and 90 days for a qualifying Delta or Delta Connection® flight or qualifying partner's mileage to be recorded. To learn more about it see Milage Credit Rules & Conditions.
-
On average, miles will appear in your SkyMiles account within 6-8 weeks. For more information, check the terms and conditions of your Limited-Time Offer for credit posting information.
-
Members can access a digital membership card via My Wallet in the Fly Delta app or print a membership card by going to My Wallet.
-
If the name and address is exactly the same on both accounts, contact Delta Reservation Sales and request account consolidation. If the accounts have different names or addresses, the best thing to do is send a written request that includes the member's signature and both SkyMiles membership numbers to SkyMiles Account Support. Note that only the applicable mileage credit (and not any duplicate enrollment bonus) can be transferred to the remaining account.
-
Legal documentation is required for name changes. To learn more, see Name & Address Changes in the Member Guide.
-
Your miles will stay active even if you don't purchase a flight or have any other account activity – the miles currently in your account and those earned in the future are yours to keep regardless of account activity. However, we do ask that you maintain current contact information in your records with us. We reserve the right to close dormant accounts if you do not respond to our efforts to confirm that your account is still active.

MQMs earned for partner-marketed flights vary by carrier. See Partner Airlines for MQM earn details for each partner.
-
The marketing carrier is identified by the two-letter code before the flight number. For example, “DL 55” signifies Delta flight 55 and “AF 200” signifies Air France flight 200.
-
A fare class will begin with a letter such as L, U, T, etc. and will usually be the first letter of the “Fare Code” or “Fare Basis Code.” An example of a booking class may be (L) and the fare basis code may be “LE7NR”. On a Delta ticket, you will find your booking class under the header “Flight and Cabin (Class)” and is located in the Trip Summary section after selecting your flights or under the “Fare Rules” section. Other websites may have this information under “Fare Rules and Restrictions” or “Fare Terms and Conditions” and can be located on the website prior to purchasing your ticket.

You earn miles on the base fare and carrier-imposed surcharges, but not on government-imposed taxes and fees.
-
Ancillary purchases or fees do not earn redeemable miles, including but not limited to the following: checked baggage fees, Delta Comfort+® and Preferred Seats purchases, Priority Boarding, Delta Sky Club® memberships, Wi-Fi passes, in-flight food and beverage purchases, in-flight entertainment, unaccompanied minor fees, pet travel fees, Mileage Booster™ or mileage purchases, ticket change fees, same-day confirmed or standby fees, Administrative Service Charges (ASC), External Reissue Charges (ERC) and Standby Upgrades.
-
When you fly with a partner airline, the fare you paid isn’t always shared with Delta. Therefore, flights that are both marketed and ticketed by Delta’s partner airlines earn mileage based on a percentage of the distance flown as determined by the fare class paid.
Starting januari 01, 2018, flights marketed by Delta’s partner airlines will earn miles based on a percentage of distance flown as determined by the fare class paid as published at Partner Airlines at the time of travel. Some partners will continue to earn based on both marketing and ticketing carrier.
Details about mileage accrual are available at Partner Airlines.
-
For the partner-marketed segments, you earn miles based on a percentage of the distance flown as determined by the fare class paid. For the Delta-marketed segments, you earn miles based on the total base fare and carrier-imposed surcharges, prorated based on distance flown.
-
When you purchase certain tickets, the fare you paid isn’t disclosed. Therefore, these exception tickets, including but not limited to bulk, consolidator, cruise, vacation packages (including some Delta Vacations® packages), inclusive tour and other tickets where the fare is not disclosed, earn miles based on a percentage of distance flown as determined by the fare class paid as published at delta.com/exceptionfares at the time of travel. Exception fares eligible for a Medallion mileage bonus will earn a 40% bonus on miles awarded or distance flown (whichever is less) for Silver Medallion members, 60% for Gold Medallion members, 80% for Platinum Medallion members and 120% for Diamond Medallion members.
-
There is no minimum number of redeemable miles earned on a flight. You earn a minimum of 500 Medallion Qualification Miles (MQMs) per segment on Delta-marketed flights. For MQMs earned on Delta-ticketed flights that are partner-marketed, please refer to Partner Airlines. Also, you earn a maximum of 75.000 redeemable miles per ticket, excluding promotional bonuses.
-
When you are logged into delta.com and booking a ticket, you can view the estimated miles you will earn for that flight on the Trip Summary page.
-
Yes, miles are earned by the member who is flying (whose name and SkyMiles number are listed on the ticket). This means that even if your company (or spouse, parent, etc.) purchases your ticket, you will earn the miles.
-
You do not earn miles, MQMs, MQSs or MQDs for Award, free, barter, pass travel or certain other tickets. For tickets purchased through Pay with Miles, you earn MQMs and MQSs based on distance flown, as well as miles and MQDs for the portion of the base fare and carrier-imposed surcharges remaining that is paid in currency after miles are applied to the ticket total. Miles + Cash Award Tickets are not eligible to earn miles, MQMs, MQSs or MQDs. As a reminder, MQDs are an additional component required to earn Medallion status and are applicable for U.S. members only.
-
The majority of payment forms, including Delta travel vouchers, count toward earning miles. However, please note that the portion of a ticket paid for in miles does not count toward earning miles. Therefore, only the portion of the base fare and carrier-imposed surcharges paid in currency for tickets purchased through Pay with Miles earn miles. Miles are applied toward base fare and carrier-imposed surcharges before taxes and fees. Please note, Award, Miles + Cash, free, barter, pass travel and certain other tickets are not eligible for mileage accrual.
-
For flights purchased in a currency other than USD, the currency will be converted to USD based on the IATA 5-day currency exchange rate at the time of ticketing. Then the same mileage earn rates per USD will be applied.
Please note that the miles will not post to your account until travel is complete.

MQDs are the total of the SkyMiles member’s spend on Delta-marketed flights (flight numbers that include the “DL” airline code), including the base fare and carrier-imposed surcharges, but excluding government-imposed taxes and fees.
On Delta-marketed, partner-operated flights (the flight number includes “DL”) MQDs will be earned based on the money you spend on the Delta-marketed flight. For partner-marketed and operated flights (the flight number does not include “DL”), MQDs are earned based on distance flown and fare class purchased. Learn more about how to earn MQDs on partner-marketed and operated flights.
Certain tickets, including but not limited to bulk, consolidator, cruise, vacation packages, inclusive tour and other tickets where the fare is not disclosed, will count toward MQDs. A portion of the airfare for some Delta Vacations® packages will earn MQDs based on fare class and distance flown. Award, Miles + Cash, free, barter, pass travel and other tickets not eligible for mileage accrual will not earn MQDs.
Pay with Miles tickets will earn MQDs for the portion of the base fare and carrier-imposed surcharges remaining that is paid in currency after miles are applied to the ticket total.
Delta Comfort+® and Preferred Seats purchases and effective juli 21, 2015 paid Premium class upgrades made through a Delta channel are included in MQDs. All other ancillary purchases or fees will not count toward MQDs.

Members earn MQDs on Delta-marketed flights (flight numbers that include the “DL” airline code). The best way to ensure you receive full credit is to book travel through a Delta channel, such as delta.com, and include your SkyMiles number in your reservation. Note that MQDs include the base fare and carrier-imposed surcharges but exclude government-imposed taxes and fees.
You also earn MQDs on Delta-marketed, partner-operated flights (the flight number includes “DL”) based on the money you spend on the Delta-marketed flight. For partner-marketed and operated flights (the flight number does not include “DL”), MQDs are earned based on distance flown and fare class purchased. Learn more about how to earn MQDs on partner-marketed and operated flights.
As of januari 01, 2014, Delta Comfort+ and Preferred Seats purchases made through a Delta channel are also included in MQDs.
MQDs also include select exception fares. The MQDs you will earn when traveling on “exception fares” (such as consolidator, cruise, vacation packages, inclusive tour and other tickets) will be equal to one-fifth of the base miles and Class Bonus miles (when applicable) earned on the itinerary.

-
When you are logged into delta.com and booking a ticket, the estimated MQDs, miles and Medallion Qualification Miles (MQMs) you’ll earn for that flight are shown on the Trip Summary page. -
Yes, you will automatically receive MQDs credit for each flown segment, including tickets that are reissued. In some situations, especially when passengers are accommodated on other airlines, our system may not recognize the re-accommodated segment as flown, and MQDs will not automatically post. If you notice a discrepancy, please contact us through Reservations or delta.com
If a member purchases a Delta Comfort+ or Preferred Seat, and Delta is not able to accommodate the member in that seat or a similar seat, the member’s purchase will be refunded and no MQDs will be awarded. If a customer voluntarily changes his/her flight or seat selection once purchased, MQDs will be credited based on the total amount paid for the new seat (not including change fees). For example, if a Member pays $500 for a ticket and then later switches to a different flight for which the ticket costs $750 total (a $250 increase), the Member will receive MQDs based on the total $750 he or she paid for the seat.
-
Delta SkyMiles Credit Card Eligible Purchases are the total of purchases for goods and services less returns and other credits. Fees, interest charges, balance transfers, cash advances, purchases of traveler’s checks, the purchase or reloading of prepaid cards and purchases of other cash equivalents will not count toward Eligible Purchases.
-
Check the new tracker to quickly and easily keep tabs on your progress toward earning status in My SkyMiles or the My Delta homepage dropdown when logged in at delta.com, or on the Fly Delta app. It prominently displays your MQMs and MQSs side by side as well as your progress toward MQD and the MQD Waiver (Delta SkyMiles Credit Card Spend) thresholds.
-
Rollover MQMs will not change with the new program. As long as you earn Medallion status based on the new requirements, any MQMs in excess of the threshold needed for status earned will roll over. There will be no rollover of MQDs, the MQD Waiver (Delta SkyMiles Credit Card spend) or Medallion Qualification Segments (MQSs).
-
Your total spend across all Delta SkyMiles Credit Cards that are linked to the same SkyMiles number will be combined and count toward your annual total of Eligible Purchases.
-
Please allow 6-8 weeks for your MQD Waiver (Delta SkyMiles Credit Card spend) total to be updated at delta.com.
-
