Delta’s and LATAM will work closely to create the leading airline partnership between the United States/Canada and South America (Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay) and connect the Americas to the world like never before with access to more than 300 destinations. With frequent flyer reciprocity for flights on or after april 1, 2020, Delta SkyMiles Members will have the opportunity to accrue and redeem miles across this broad network.

Beginning april 1, 2020, SkyMiles Members can earn miles when traveling on eligible LATAM flights or use miles to book Award Travel* on scheduled LATAM flights available through Delta channels.

*Award Travel bookings are not eligible for mileage accrual.

Beginning on augustus 07, 2020, Medallion Members can expect to enjoy reciprocal elite benefits, including lounge access, when flying on LATAM, depending on Tier. See a comprehensive list of LATAM reciprocal elite benefits.
In 2020, Delta and LATAM introduced their first codeshare services in South America, and in 2021 expanded codeshare services to 20 U.S.-South America routes plus connections to a broad range of domestic and regional destinations from their hubs in Atlanta, New York, Los Angeles, Santiago, Lima, Bogota and São Paulo, improving connectivity between the two regions.

Delta and LATAM to launch route between Santiago and Orlando | Delta News Hub 

With two flights a week on Thursdays and Sundays, Delta and the LATAM group will reactivate the direct route between Santiago, Chile, and Orlando, Florida.

The route will be available from juni 16 to Sept. 28, 2024, summer season in the Northern Hemisphere, providing a direct and convenient option for Chileans seeking an escape from the Southern Hemisphere winter to Central Florida’s array of all-ages theme parks and attractions.

The new flights operated by Delta Air Lines from Rio de Janeiro arrived in Atlanta and New York Dec. 17, both associated with the Joint Venture Agreement with LATAM.

One year after the start of their Joint Venture, the Delta and LATAM alliance has enabled the partners to announce six new routes, carry out 15.000 flights, transport more than 3 million customers and cover more than 56 million miles (90 million kilometers), which is equivalent to the distance between planet Earth and Mercury.

Route operated by LATAM is the only direct route between Brazil and Los Angeles and will allow connections with Delta to more than 20 destinations in the US, including San Francisco, Las Vegas and Seattle.

This week, LATAM Airlines Colombia began its nonstop daily operation between Bogotá and Orlando, Florida, as part of the commercial agreement with Delta Air Lines.  

The four-hour service between the Colombian capital and Orlando, known worldwide as a family-friendly entertainment destination, also opens a new gateway to Delta’s expansive network of U.S. destinations.

To commemorate this milestone within the joint venture agreement, authorities, special guests, and customers of both airlines participated in an inaugural event at the El Dorado Airport in Bogotá, accompanying the departure of one of the flights to Orlando.

The partnership has announced five new U.S.-South America routes and increased capacity by 75% since implementing their joint venture. Delta and LATAM’s complementary networks and award-winning customer experience are winning over new customers and generating travel demand.

Once implemented, the approval enables Delta and LATAM Airlines Group, LATAM Airlines Brasil, LATAM Airlines Colombia, LATAM Airlines Peru and LATAM Airlines Paraguay to begin the work of unlocking new customer and cargo benefits.

Delta Air Lines and the LATAM Airlines Group will jointly add more than 20 international routes between the United States and South America and also expand connections to a broad number of domestic and regional destinations from their hubs in Atlanta; Santiago, Chile; Lima, Peru; Bogota, Colombia; and São Paulo / Guarulhos in Brazil.

Delta is now putting its code on 12 international routes operated by the LATAM Group between South America and cities in the United States where customers can access connections, including Miami and Orlando, and Delta’s hubs at Boston, New York JFK and Los Angeles. In addition, Delta is adding its code to six interregional routes in South America and four new domestic destinations in Chile.

The agreement in turn has the LATAM Group putting its code on eight international routes operated by Delta between South America and the United States, including to its Atlanta and New York JFK hubs, where the airline offers connections to a range of U.S. domestic and global destinations.

Delta Air Lines and LATAM Airlines Group and its affiliates have signed a trans-American Joint Venture Agreement that, once regulatory approvals where required are granted, will combine the carriers’ highly complementary route networks between North and South America, providing customers with a seamless travel experience and industry-leading connectivity.
Delta and LATAM Airlines Group (“LATAM”) have reached agreement to launch loyalty program reciprocity across the carriers’ broad networks, offering customer benefits across more than 435 destinations worldwide. Additionally, the carriers continue to expand codesharing across more flights throughout the region, adding expanded connectivity for customers.

New Schedule Will Kick Off With Special Deals for Customers
Delta Air Lines will add 13 new daily nonstop flights to Miami International Airport (MIA) from hubs and top corporate travel destinations around the U.S., including new service from Orlando, Raleigh-Durham, Salt Lake City and Tampa.

With this expanded network, Delta will offer 41 daily non-stop options between 10 U.S. airports and Miami, with all flights offering Delta’s award-winning First Class and Delta Comfort+ product, in addition to the carrier’s signature operational reliability and industry-leading service. Delta’s partnerships today extend its Miami reach across the globe to 12 international nonstop destinations, with LATAM offering 10 additional international destinations from Miami.

Delta and LATAM will launch codesharing for flights operated by certain LATAM affiliates in Colombia, Ecuador and Peru beginning in the first quarter of 2020, pending receipt of applicable government approvals.

The codeshare will offer customers increased connectivity between up to 74 onward destinations in the United States and up to 51 onward destinations in South America.

Delta expects to expand codeshare opportunities to include more destinations in the near future.
